Let your imagination be your guide as we explore techniques for working with clay to create real-life and fantasy animals out of clay. Learn about the physical anatomy of your favorite animal, and explore how that translates into the process of making clay figurines. You can even create a small environment for your creature(s) to live in. First 20lbs. of clay and first firing included.
*ARS 233 Creative Comics & Cartoons Age 9 – 10

Step aside, Spiderman! This fun, interactive class will show you how to create a professional-style comic book. Students will create and assemble an exciting adventure comic/anime or a series of humorous cartoons while receiving fundamental cartoon drawing instruction. All supplies included.

Circus Camp Age 7 – 17
Monday – Friday July 7 – 11
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Camp Director: Michael Rosman
Michael Rosman and other professional performers will introduce campers to the circus arts such as juggling, unicycle, plate spinning, magic tricks and clown comedy. It will be a high-energy program packed with lots of physical activity and fun with whole group activities as well as age group skill sessions. Each camper receives extra goodies such as t-shirts and juggling kits. The week concludes with a circus style performance by the campers for family and friends. Musical Theatre Camp Age 5 - 15

Sing. Dance. Act. Create costumes and stagecraft, taught by Musical Artists Theatre. Over two weeks students learn songs using healthy vocal technique, develop poise and coordination while practicing choreography, explore acting skills and improvisational games, rehearse scenes, make costumes, and design and paint the set. On the final day, the campers present a free performance for their family and friends. Please bring a bagged lunch with food that does not need refrigeration. No experience necessary.

Murder Mystery Camp Age 13 - 18
Monday – Friday August 4 – 8
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Who-dun-it? You can! Learn the theatre tricks of the trade from improvisational professionals. In this full-day camp format, students will develop their acting skills, learn theatrical effects, learn with improvisational games, all while preparing for a murder mystery show that they will perform at on the last day of camp. All experience levels welcome. Please bring a bagged lunch with food that does not need refrigeration.

Each day a new “rainbow” topic will inspire our morning painting adventures (topics may include: rain drops, silver linings, or pinwheel palettes). Participants will use all kinds of paint from finger paint to watercolors; be sure to bring art friendly clothes. Around 11am the students will switch gears to learn the basics of ballet. At 11am, students will look to folk tales for inspiration in order to create clay figurines and a fanciful clay doll; be sure to bring art friendly clothes. Make your own “Mirrorages” or “Flashies,” beautiful, sparkling decorations made from mirrors and marbles. Each participant will receive instruction on cutting and assemblage. Projects during the week will be making various works of art with mirrors such as flashies, mirror creatures, jewelry, or even neckties. With this “hands-on approach,” students will be cutting mirrors with confidence. All tools and supplies included.

*ARS 229 Painting in Your Environment Age 11+
Instructor: Erin Meye
Monday – Friday August 11 – 15 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Students will create landscape paintings in acrylic on elements found in the environment such as rocks, driftwood, shells, etc. Some items appear to be sculptures and these will be explored as well. All finished pieces will be mounted or fitted for hanging. Students will learn various techniques of painting with acrylic on different surfaces, brush effects, and finishing treatments. All supplies included.
