AACPS After School Application Form:

April 9-May 22

(No Class April 10 & May 14th)

The after school program at CAC is available to students in grades 3-5 in the Northern Anne Arundel County area (priority given to students from Park Elementary School, Belle Grove Elementary School, Brooklyn Park Elementary School, Linthicum Elementary School, North Glen Elementary School and George Cromwell Elementary School, as well as students who are new to the program). You must have an AACPS Student ID Number. Virtual students are not eligible.

The second session of the Spring After School program runs from 4:15-5:15pm on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from April 9-May 22, 2024 (No Class April 10 & May 14th) at the Chesapeake Arts Center. Transportation is not provided.

Students can choose from a variety of programs including Animals & Art, Printmaking, STEAM, Dance and Ceramics. There is no fee to attend, and students will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To apply, please fill out the form here and CAC staff will be in touch with enrollment confirmation. Please do not arrive for After School Clubs if you have not received a confirmation from our staff.

Program Descriptions

Ceramics Club (Tuesdays with Nadia Lezcano): Let's create with clay! Explore this fun, versatile medium while making your own sculptures and pottery.

Dance Club (Tuesdays with Dawnyelle Butler): Let's get moving! Students will explore various styles of dance such as hip hop, jazz, creative movement, ballet, and many more. Students learn endurance and flexibility training while finding their inner artistry.

Lego Robotics Club (Tuesdays with Annemarie Rush): Jump into the exciting world of Robotics by using amazing Lego components! Students will develop essential STEM skills as they build remote controlled robots that roll, jump, climb, and pick up other objects.

Printmaking & Collage (Tuesdays with Kayla Williams): Dive into a series of exciting hands-on projects! This fun class introduces printmaking and collage techniques while students explore their individual creativity.

Animals & Art Club (Wednesdays with Echoes of Nature): Join us as we explore nature and art. Students will explore a different topic each day, complete with live animal ambassadors, along with STEAM based art, science and activities. Explore with us!

Broadway Dance Club (Wednesdays with Robin Miller): This theatre & dance club is for students who loves musical theatre and are excited combine that with the foundational steps of jazz dance! Dancers will be taught important components of the style, in addition to learning about emoting character and furthering plot lines through dance.

STEAM: Art In Motion Club (Wednesdays with Annemarie Rush): Create sculptural kinetic artwork while exploring engineering, technology and math. Students will make a variety of projects including automata and windspinners.

Painting & Drawing Club (Wednesdays with Ricky Chenoweth): Dive into the colorful world of Painting & Drawing! This class will cover the basics of mark-making, introduce students to a variety of media, and provide the opportunity to explore different styles of art and develop their skills and voice.
