Join us for School’s Out Mini Camps this school year!

Through the generosity of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, CAC is offering free half-day camps this spring when AACPS is closed. These camps will meet from 9:30am-12:30pm to deep-dive into a particular medium or STEAM-related topic. See below for available dates, topics, and how to apply!

Upcoming School’s Out Dates & Topics

MARCH

Spring Break Camps: Monday, March 25 - Wednesday, March 27 from 9:30am-12:30pm

  • Mini Museums | Grades 2-4: Design and create your own mini museum, complete with paintings, sculptures and more! Learn about famous artists by creating tiny works in their style, then add your own ideas! Lead Instructor: Ricky Chenoweth

  • STEAM Camp | Grades 3-5: Learn about all the possibilities of STEAM! Make different kinds of slime, build Rube Goldberg devices, assemble Lego robots, and experience the chemistry of color! Lead Instructor: Annemarie Rush

  • Sewing Camp | Grades 6-8: Learn the basics of sewing, including how to operate a sewing machine, utilize patterns and fun sewing techniques! Lead Instructor: Tegan Feehery

APRIL

STEAM Camp: Wednesday, April 10th from 9:30am-12:30pm | Grades 3-5

  • Extreme STEAM Challenge: Hydraulic Robotic Claws! In this half-day camp, students will learn about simple machine and hydraulics, and make their own functional hydraulic claw. Lead Instructor: Annemarie Rush

MAY

All That Jazz! Dance & Theatre Camp: Tuesday May 14th from 9:30am-12:30pm | Grades 1-3

  • This dance camp is for students who loves musical theatre and are excited combine that with the foundational steps of jazz dance! Dancers will be taught important components of the style, in addition to learning about emoting character and furthering plot lines through dance. Lead Instructor: Robin Miller
