How does space and location impact your work? For example, how does your vision of the work change seeing it in the gallery space vs. your workspace?

For me space has always impacted my work as a double edged sword .  When I first dove in full time as an artist, I had a bunch of space both indoors and outdoors to work with, so I was able to explore a variety of mediums in experimental ways, which really helped develop a lot of my technique and style.

What draws you to a new medium or material?

Oooooohhhhh Shiny.

How does experimentation factor into your art practice? What is something you want to explore in your work in the future?

As a self taught prolific artist, experimentation is responsible for the development of most of my technique in both spray paint and encaustic work.

I want to go bigger!   My car can only hold a 30x40 canvas and I don't have the space for duck roll.

How do you continue to find inspiration and ideas? Is that something that you struggle with?

I don't try to force it.   Sometimes it'll be days or even a couple of weeks before I'll start a new piece, but that's life.

Is there a common thread, theme, or motif you always find comes up in your work?

Duality, and Adaptability.

Even when painting adult themes I approach them with a naive style or childlike brush stroke.   We are after all both.   We're just grown children. I like the freedom in being honest about it.

Also, the chameleon is symbol I've used pretty regularly for the last 10 years as an on the nose metaphor for adaptability.

What drives you to continue making art?

The 42 open tabs in my brain, half of which contain art.

What gives you the inspiration to create something new and different?

I'm just passionate about what I put out.  I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, just my wheel. I think most artists'  works are autobiographical to a point, at least mine are. I'm not shy, I put it all out there.
