OUR THEATRES
HAMMONDS LANE THEATRE
Anchoring the front of Chesapeake Arts Center is Hammonds Lane Theatre; a professional non-union “road house” with the ability to host graduations, concerts, theatre or dance performances, and lectures. Our facility features multiple-aisle arrangement seating (751 seats, handicapped accessible), professional lighting, sound, and video systems, and 250-400 person capacity rehearsal hall.
STUDIO 194 THEATRE
Located at the rear of our facility is Studio 194; a small intimate space with the ability to host smaller productions, concerts, meetings, lectures, and rehearsals. Our facility features a thrust stage with three-quarter round seating arrangement (120 seats, handicapped accessible), professional lighting, sound, and video systems as well as 2 dressing rooms and a green room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the theatre seats numbered? In Hammonds Lane Theatre, yes. In Studio 194, no. You can find a current seat map for Hammonds Lane Theatre HERE.
Can we bring outside equipment? Yes, but it must be approved by the Director of Operations at least two weeks prior to your event.
Can we sell alcohol? All alcohol distribution must be handled by CAC and there will be an application fee included with your rental.
Can we sell food? No food is allowed in the theatres, but light concessions may be sold in the lobbies, or other spaces. No prepared food be sold.
Can we serve food for a reception/luncheon? Yes, please contact us for a current list of approved caterers.
Is there WiFi? We have a guest network that is accessible without needing a password.
Can I get into the space before my scheduled time? If you need to adjust your contract time please reach out to the Director of Operations to discuss options, but please note last minute requests may not be possible.
Do you have projection? What should I bring my A/V material on? Yes. CAC requires that all A/V material be provided on a USB thumb drive in MP3 or MP4 format. No CDs, MP3 Players, or cellphones.

When selecting a caterer, we encourage you to contact them directly to discuss your event needs, including menu selections, pricing, staffing, dietary accommodations, rentals, and any additional services. Please note that all catering arrangements should comply with the venue’s policies and event requirements. Our team is happy to assist with any venue-related questions and help coordinate with your selected caterer as you plan your event.
