Kim Cochrane

Monica Hawse

Monica Hawse grew up as an Army brat and has lived in Maryland for most of her life. She loved using a camera even as a young girl, but only began to seriously study the art and technical components of photography in the past 5 years. It was after her government career as a Computer Scientist that she was able to dedicate her time and passion to learn and practice photography. She is a member of several local camera clubs, and has had her work displayed at The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, Maryland Federation of Art, Bowie City Hall, and the Kent Island Federation of Art. Her husband and grown children are wonderfully supportive and encouraging. After being out and about in nature, and on the ground to “get that shot”, one of her greatest joys is to then share the wonder of nature or an experience that she has captured.

Kim Kelly

For Kim, photography took root when she received her first camera, a Canon AT-1 (film) as a college graduation gift and she has continued to shoot ever since. She eventually migrated over to digital technology (still shooting with Canon products) and her passion for capturing images continued to grow. She loves participating in photography workshops, seminars, clubs and meetup groups. Kim served as the Field Trip Director for three years and is currently Program Director for the Digital Photography Club of Annapolis as well as the club’s liaison to the Maryland Photography Alliance.

She currently makes her home near Annapolis and considers the Chesapeake Bay region, with its extensive shorelines, her playground. Alarms going off at O’Dark Thirty or shooting well after the sun has set, are commonplace for Kim. Through her images, she hopes to invoke a curiosity in the viewer to ask questions about her subjects. She enjoys taking them places they would not normally go themselves. Many of her works feature old workboats or nautical treasures found in and around the tributaries of the Bay. She is also passionate about photographing nature, wildlife, landscapes, travel, and architecture, etc. As she likes to say, “I’ll photograph anything, but people.”

Kim’s works have been displayed in a local Annapolis restaurant, in juried shows at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and Quiet Waters Park and in several publications including Chesapeake Bay Magazine, Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources 2019 Calendar, and MarinaLife.

John Parsons

I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying photography for about sixty years. I am retired and live in Annapolis, MD. I shoot with Nikon cameras, currently the mirrorless Nikon Z6. The subjects I like include boating on the Chesapeake Bay, landscapes, people, club events, and family events. I have been to several workshops presented by David Blecman and Scott Kelby. I have completed the New York Institute of Photography Professional Photographer course.

Bob Peterson

I started in photography in high school and was active with both 35mm and medium format cameras. I did weddings and a lot of travel photography and had my own darkroom, to include color printing. However, as my kids started growing up and I got busy with work, I slipped back to using point and shoot cameras for many years, to include my first few digital cameras. I got back into photography about seven years ago and am primarily shooting landscapes, architecture, and nature photography. I am a volunteer photographer for Historic London Town and Gardens. My photographs are featured in the Annapolis Visitor’s Center on West Street, Susan Campbell Park, in numerous advertisements for Visit Annapolis, in the lobby of the Clatanoff Pavilion at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, on the cover of the 2015 and 2020 Annapolis Visitor’s Guide, and on the cover of the December 2014 edition of Chesapeake Bay Magazine. I am a board member of the Maryland Federation of Art, have exhibited in numerous juried shows at the Circle Gallery and other venues, and am an active member of the Digital Photography Club of Annapolis. I also do a lot of Naval Academy photography in my role as a sponsor of Midshipmen.

Originally from Pennsylvania, I and currently reside in Annapolis with my wife Ruth.

She has not been formally trained, but has learned her craft from professionals in the field and continues to do so. Her education and skills are stretched with each new project she initiates.
