CAC Classes and Open Studio Cancelled until Saturday, October 17, 2020

The Chesapeake Arts Center will be closed until Saturday, October 17, 2020. Last week, a CAC staff member was exposed to COVID and today received a negative result. According to CDC guidelines, that staff member will be quarantining for the next 14 days. While the exposed staff member does not have any direct contact with students and has not been in CAC classrooms or studios in months, CAC is taking every precaution to maintain the health and safety of all who enter our building.

After hearing the news of the exposure last week, CAC immediately cancelled all classes and events through Monday, October 12. Today, out of an abundance of caution, we are extending this closure through Friday, October 16. All staff members who last week were in contact with the exposed staff member are working remotely and will continue to do so through Friday, and are in the process of being tested and awaiting their results. We will not resume classes until this Saturday, October 17 to give enough time to ensure all test results are received and all tests are negative before reopening.

In the meantime, the building has been undergoing thorough cleaning and sanitizing and we plan to begin regular classes on Saturday, October 17 once all testing and cleaning is complete. We will continue to post all updates here and contact students and patrons affected directly through phone or email.

As always, thank you for your support of CAC. We continue to put your health and the health of our staff and instructors first and to take all precautions to keep our facility safe. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
