Jillian Conjura, Dance
Jillian Conjura graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. There she was mentored by Deirdre Carberry, Jiang Qi, Michael Tevlin, and Ka-Ron Brown Lehman and performed as a guest artist with Ballet Theatre Midwest. Upon graduation, Jillian began her professional career with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland in Annapolis, Maryland, retiring as a soloist in 2019. Her repertoire includes Paquita, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Raymonda, Don Quixote, Giselle, and George Balanchine’s Serenade.
Her early training began under the direction of Natasha Bar and Albert Davydov at American Youth Ballet in Hudson Valley, New York. She privately trained under former New York City Ballet dancers Elizabeth Gayer-Gottlieb and Jennifer Fuchs Hart and attended prestigious summer intensives including New York State Summer School of the Arts, Charlotte Ballet, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Jillian has many years of teaching experience and has mentored students to succeed and place in regional and national competitions. She has received notable awards and recognitions at Youth America Grand Prix for her contemporary ballet choreography.
Jillian recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and is pursuing a career as a Registered Dietitian. Dancing has and will always be a significant part of her life. Jillian is passionate about sharing her love of dance with students and is excited to be part of the Chesapeake Arts Center family.
