Sewing is Revolutionary, Sewing is Community is presented in collaboration with Bmore Fabric Swap and reflects its ethos of reuse, resourcefulness, and collective care. This group exhibition features garments, wearable works, and sculptural or traditional art created from repurposed textiles, each incorporating sewn elements by hand or machine. Through fabric, artists create a visual narrative of sustainability and craftsmanship while honoring the long tradition of making functional and decorative objects by hand.

This exhibition is on display in our Hal Gomer Gallery from November 18, 2026 - January 6, 2027.

About Bmore Fabric Swap: Founded in 2023 by Baltimore artists Charlotte Hager, Loralee Tyson, and Laura Flamm, Bmore Fabric Swap invites local area sewists and crafters to destash, restash, and connect through semi-annual material and resource swaps. Since its launch in May 2023, Bmore Fabric Swap has hosted six free community events, with a total attendance around 600 individuals from 66 unique zip codes. Since 2024, the Swap has helped to divert over 6,000 pounds of reusable materials from the landfill!
