A beloved Baltimore tradition returns this holiday season! Morton Street Dance Center is thrilled to present The Nutcracker, a magical production that brings together the talent and artistry of our students, faculty, and professional guest performers.

Join us as we transform the stage of the Chesapeake Arts Center into a winter wonderland filled with dazzling costumes, timeless music, and the unforgettable journey of Marie Clara and her Nutcracker Prince.

The play is set in Amsterdam and begins in July of 1942. Two Jewish families, the Franks and van Daans, move into hiding to avoid arrest by the Nazis. A couple of trusted friends, Mr. Kraler and Miep Gies, help the families settle in the secret annex, hidden rooms in the rear extension of the building where Otto Frank (Anne’s father) worked before they went into hiding. World Artists Experiences Presents....Natalia Arroyo Ensemble

The Natalia Arroyo Ensemble, founded by Natalia Arroyo, an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer from Mexico, performs traditional and contemporary music of northern and central México. The ensemble is composed of guitar, violin, Mexican jarana, double bass, Peruvian-flamenco cajón, and voice. Their music consists of traditional Mexican pieces and new compositions that mix the roots of northern Mexican music with Latin rhythms, consolidating their sound in a fresh and innovative way. Improvisation of the violin and a festive atmosphere characterize their world-wide performances.
