In the Studio with Concert Photographer Brad Price

Today, we’re going In the Studio with concert photographer Brad Price from Annapolis, Maryland. He has been photographing concerts since 2017, and launched Planet B Photography on Halloween 2019. Live music is his favorite thing to photograph, and having to go a year and a half without it wounded his soul. Now that live shows have returned, that wound is healed, and you may just spot a long-haired man in a red coverall with a camera lurking in a photo pit; he is a happy man indeed.

His concert photography is currently on display in the Hal Gomer Gallery at the Chesapeake Arts Center in the Rock n Roll Concert Photography exhibit until October 2, 2021.

Today, we’re going In the Studio with concert photographer Deanna Escobar the owner of SugarShot Media. Deanna started photography in 2001. She really got into it, post 9/11, to get closer to things she loved — extreme sports and music. Of the two subjects, concerts have dominated her portfolio.

She loved using a camera even as a young girl, but only began to seriously study the art and technical components of photography in the past 5 years.

Karen Jury is a local photographer, currently exhibiting in the “Maryland the Beautiful” exhibit here at CAC. Karen splits her time between Ellicott City and Kent Island MD. Her newest passion is using her photographs to create beautiful Photo Encaustics. Covering her photos with layers of beeswax/resin and using different inks/pigments and carvings, creates a unique piece of art.

David Blecman is a local photographer and owner of Positive Negatives, currently exhibiting in the “Maryland the Beautiful” exhibit here at CAC. David’s passion for photography goes back to 1978 fresh out of high school.

He is now an award winning, internationally recognized photographer and instructor, having taught on three continents and in over a dozen countries. David teaches and mentors photographers, models, and makeup artists. His personal mentoring programs for photographers and commercial models continues to grow in popularity.

Kim Kelly is a local photographer, currently exhibiting in the “Maryland the Beautiful” exhibit here at CAC. Kim’s passion for photography goes back to 1978 when she received her first camera as a college graduation gift. Her images have been featured in local magazines and she has participated in several exhibits including her own one women show. Her images have been selected by several businesses to adorn their walls; including Coldwell Banker Realty and KHovnanian Homes.

In the Studio with Nicole Caracia

As the CAC’s Artistic Director, Nicole Caracia spends her days developing and implementing the artistic vision and focus of the organization. She oversees the Education department and works with the team to provide field-trips, after-school programs, workshops and classes. Additionally, Nicole determines all the "CAC presents" performances that take place at the center, including the gallery exhibits in the Hal Gomer gallery.

When she’s not at the CAC, Nicole is an award-winning photographer and photography teacher, wife and mom to two little girls. Nicole’s diverse portfolio includes bands, landscapes, animals, portraits , models and weddings. And she’s a photography teacher at BPMS and CAC as well.
